Chaweng

Chaweng is the islands most established and re-known beach. The beach, one of Samuis longuest, stretches over 7 Kms of the most refined sand on Koh Samui.The beach itself is very relaxing and peaceful but noticeably more touristy during the high season. The center of Chaweng beach road features the greatest selection of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and of course fast food and convenience stores. A good choice of music venues range from traditional Thai to jazz, rock to reggae, small cozy bars to large clubs. All entertainment places close at 2:00am. For a more private evening, there are plenty of bars and restaurants right on the beach, offering a dreamy and quieter view of the Gulf and the starring night. Lamai

Lamai's attractions are its open market and the old monastery, which includes a local museum. If you want to get back to nature, explore the paths just to the back of the beach road. Here, you'll find peaceful coconut and fruit (banana, pineapple, durian) plantations as well as trekking trails leading into the inside of the island. The main beach road features attractions such as health and meditation centers and a Thai boxing school. Maenam

Maenam, on the northern coast of Koh Samui is still very much a traditional Thai village with some of its wooden houses and shops over 70 years old. The beach is calm, clean and runs forapproximately 4 Kms. view Maenam Travel Guide

Bophut

This is undoubtedly one of the most charming beach spots. Bophut village is one of the oldestvillages and remains a little fishing village. There are several seafront shop houses which have been converted into trendy restaurant and shop. The two kilometers white sandy beach and the calm waters of the bay make this a popular spot for relaxing. At night, the area is charming, quiet and intimate. view Bophut Travel Guide

Big Buddha & Bangrak

Big Buddha Beach is the North eastern tip of Koh Samui and as the name suggests is home to the Big Buddha. Like Bohput, it remains a peaceful and relaxing interlude from the busy time of Chaweng. view Bangrak and Big Buddha Travel Guide

Choeng Mon

Further eastwards is Choeng Mon beach. The area is only about 15 minutes from Chaweng but because it is in a protected cove the beach remains calm and reasonably clean.
